[2011.8] LEATHER ZIPPER NECKTIE
Circa 1980s, UK?
A real 1980s trend piece a la Miami Vice, and all the more clever as the embedded zipper functions to loosen and tighten the tie around the neck.
Purchased by the Accidental Archivist at a charity shop on Goodge Street for £1.99 during summer 2011.

Promotional designer packaging, design 3 of a series of 3 by Lagerfeld. 
Found by the Accidental Archivist on top of a trash bin near Dalston Kingsland, on a day in July 2011 when they were being given away free to pedestrians.

Possibly a wedding favour or cosmetic company promotional item. Nice detail on the mold and a charming and kitsch piece of fashion historical material culture.
Purchased by the Accidental Archivist at the RSPCA Charity Shop on Lower Clapton Road for 50 pence in February 2012.

A whimsical and gaily coloured print possibly redrawn from an earlier 1930s or 1940s design. Features Venetian architecture, landscape and figures in vignettes framed by ribbon and bow borders.
Purchased by the Accidental Archivist on May 25, 2009 from Etsy seller Vintage64 in Sacramento, California for $25.00.

Note: Venetian motif textiles are one of my two main collecting strands, so this purchase was decidedly un-accidental.
